美佳之窗 His Window 83( Jul - Sep 2018)透亮的心
Text by Lee Sook Cheng
It has always been my husband's dream that one day his wife will be able to accompany him to reach the summit of Mt KK. For the past 10 years, I have repeatedly told him that it is IMPOSSIBLE. Growing up, I was a protected child - no climbing, no swimming. Thus, it's no surprise that my outdoor activity skills have been very weak.

My husband, my backbone. Without him, I would not have had the confidence to conquer Mt KK.
During January 2018, AZ told me that a few of his good friends had plans to climb Mt KK and he wanted me to join them. My first response - NO!
God is Great, all the time. By His divine appointment,we both met Master AB at my mother in law's place. AB encouraged me to give it a try and that night after our conversation, AB affirmed me that I would be able to make it He promised to bring us to Kiara for a hike to help me make an informed decision.
Our first hike was on 10 February and it was a horrible experience for me. It felt like I've almost lost my breath. After many nights of struggling with myself, I told the MKK Ladies group that I have decided to QUIT. But all my beloved sisters were very encouraging. They told me not to give up and gave me the support I needed.
Over the next few months the KK Group became more serious and intense. It really made me more worried, especially with the amount of training required. Our heavy workload and travel schedule didn’t help as well As aresult both AZ and I were unable to join the group for a lot of the trainings. I started asking myself - how can I fit in to the group?

Motivating each other to keep going despite getting tired and sweaty.
Nonetheless, | thank God for giving me a healthy and positive mindset. “Don’t worry! Just try your best and even if you're the last it is ok, at least you tried once in your life time.”
I really didn’t want to disappoint my husband if | pull out.
Praise & thanks
There are a few people I'd like to thank.
I want to thank our Heavenly Father - in Him nothing is impossible. This trip to me is a real “miracle“. Without His grace & favour this would have never happened in my life.
God loves us so much and He knows our desire. Throughout the trip, I experienced His presence - it is impossible for me to have such fitness to be able to ascend 6km within 3.45 hours while walking at a very relaxing pace. Never once did the thought of giving up cross my mind! Many were surprised and asked whether I had any secret training or what medicine did I take?
My secret is that I have an almighty God who knows His daughters needs. I prayed for His presence - with His presence I will prosper. All glory to our God.
We had such marvellous weather clear view and no rain throughout the entire trip. The universe is truly in His hands.
My husband
Without his dream “for me and encouragement, this “will never have happened. Wherever he goes, and when he enjoys it he definitely wants to bring me along.
Master AB
Without his encouragement, I will never have joined this hike. He proposed that I engaged a personal mountain guide to accompany me. This really made a huge difference during the hike.

The glorious creations of our Almighty Father reminded me of His power and majesty.
I believe no one will disagree with me (20 of us hikers), that AB had planned the trip very well with all the necessary training and bringing his good friend Kenny to the chat group.
Mega Hikers
This group is such a marvellous bunch - aggressive, super intense training without fail. Without the “stress” from this group, I might not be able to climb to the summit. Although I was unable to join most of the Sunday 3pm trainings, but I did arrange my time to have training at the gym with my Personal Trainer. This really helped me a lot.

The beginning of our journey. Young or old, experienced or otherwise--we were all excited!
I really thank God for adding into my life another rainbow... from the impossible, to the possible.
After going back to my room, the first thing 1 did was call both of my sons. They were in shock - they found it unbelievable that their mum managed the hike.
Ivan said : Crazy, mum cannot even walk in Kiara Park last time. lan posted our picture at the peak on his Instagram.

Sisters' power
“The Lord blesses you and surrounds you with His favour as with a shield.”
Thank You Lord, you over supply my needs. “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
