Scaling PIC to greater heights…
Message from new Publication and Information Ministry (PIC) Chairman

First and foremost, I would like to thank Bro Stephen for nominating me to take over the baton of Chairman of PIC upon his retirement. I feel deeply humbled and honoured to assume this new role for the following reasons.
The power of writing, information, communication and the corresponding impact that could be brought about by effectively harnessing these platforms are considerable and far-reaching;
The work and/or deliverables of this committee are immensely tangible and visible. It also transcends time and space as it’s target audience not only cover Mega CMC’s existing members and regular worshippers, but also extends to communities beyond the four walls of the church; including other churches and para- church members, the general public, those that are residing or studying overseas, etc. The periodic writings, publications and other master-pieces generated not only serve the current generation, but when appropriately archived and preserved, could become a rich heritage and invaluable legacy for future generations;

After 20 years of evolution since the inaugural edition of “His Window” in 1999, we reckon it’s timely to review and refresh the overall mandate, direction and scope of this committee so as to better serve the needs and demands of current target audiences to be aligned with the prevailing contexts and environment based on the fundamental principles of the Bible;
As internet and digital media become ubiquitous and inseparable from daily lifestyle, it is incumbent upon the church to equip and master this tool in order to better engage, enable & empower its target audience to drive the intentional outcome;
To continuously improve in all aspects of PIC ministry and strive for excellence towards the utmost glory of God.

Moving forward, in order for PIC to fulfil its goals and mandate, it is deemed that PIC should at least serve the following 7 major ‘i’-functions.
1.INFORM:
Update our audiences with regard to church events and happenings. Keep them posted on major programs and solicit their support & participation;
2. INTERACT:
Obtain timely feedback from audiences through their comments, shares and responses to stay relevant and promote active engagement. The idea is to connect people with people and church with its communities;
3. INCULCATE:
To intentionally stimulate learning and reading habits among its audience and at the same time are discerning on what they read; to shape healthy Christian character and value among its audiences;
4. ILLUMINATE:
We are to be the ‘Light’ & always serve as a ‘Beacon of Hope’ and ‘Conscience’ to our society and community. We are mandated to direct people towards the Truth and help eradicate or mitigate darkness and decay from our sphere of influence;
5. INTEGRATE:
Even with the advent of modern technology and affluence, people are increasingly feeling lonelier and living in ‘isolated islands’ especially in big cities such as Kuala Lumpur. Relationships tend to be rather superficial and many people, including Christians, lead dysfunctional lives. We aspire to instil genuine Christ- like love and promote a deeper sense of belonging & inclusiveness among Mega CMC’s congregation and believers in general;
6. INNOVATE:
We need to be creative and always think ‘out-of-the box’ in order to improve and scale to greater heights in whatever we do. We need to believe that there is always a ‘better-way’ out and our responsibility is to collaborate and work towards achieving a better solution with our diverse background and talents;
7. INSPIRE:
To offer encouraging and relevant up-to-date content (especially spiritual content) that will spur our audience to grow more intimately with God and be a channel of blessings for others; We aspire to inspire believers through our various platforms to unleash their God-given talents and maximize their potential to serve God and people wholeheartedly.
Finally, I would like to call upon all of you to embark with me on this exciting journey of discovery and fulfilment in PIC for God’s utmost glory! Amen.
