Mega English Celebration (MEC) has been tremendously blessed by God, since its humble beginnings in 2014. From a congregation size of 40, MEC has grown to 240 worshippers. Each year, we experience God’s blessings in the area of numerical growth, but most importantly, spiritual growth. Let us trace God’s work in MEC throughout this year.

While the number of worshippers have increased, one key measurable that remains important to us is how many people actually come into the faith. We measure this by the baptisms, confirmations and membership transfers yearly. As of November 2025, we thank God that we have 13 people baptised in MEC, 11 confirmations and 3 membership transfers. The figure in the past year was 3 baptisms and 11 membership transfers. We give thanks to God for this increase in people coming to the faith and committing to be part of the church. On our part, the work is not complete, we are looking to build up the faith of the new believers so that they will grow in spiritual maturity and knowledge of God’s word. Discipleship, as the focus of MEC has been conducted via 2 layers: (1) Sunday service, and (2) Discipleship block. Through the Discipleship Block, we have systematically gone through 20 books of the Bible both in Old and New Testament. More than just being informative, these sessions helps believers see the simplicity in the more difficult books or passages within the bible that the pulpit sermon simply cannot fully cover.

Our Sunday services are nothing special, but it is guaranteed to provide you a healthy balance of worship, Word and fellowship. Each Sunday is an opportunity for worshippers to grow deeper in God’s word through systematic study of the books of the Bible, and to grow horizontally in their relationship with others through fellowship at Hebrews Cafe. With our new location, the increased space has allowed us to do more to increase fellowship and relationship. We introduced “MakanMakan”, a one-off event to have lunch together after service, with the added catch, to intentionally sit with someone you do not know and get to know the person.

At the heart of MEC’s operation is a team of volunteers and ministry leaders. Most of them serve without the knowledge or recognition of others. But, weekly, they continue to devote their time, skills, talents, and efforts for the ministry of the church and to serve God and His people. MEC would not be where it is today without the sacrificial efforts of our committee, and volunteers. I truly thank God each week that He blessed us with amazing people who are willing to serve God.
While the year has not ended, we look back to the past 10 months with gratitude. We do not count our “successes” rather we thank God for his blessings, guidance and provision. And as we thank God, we look forward with hope for the future, knowing that our Shepherd will definitely guide us through the most uncertain of days and years ahead.
