(Priscilla Lee Ying Ying)

(Isabelle Chong)

(Lim Wooi Henn)

When I was at Kampung Jubau, I realised that many people still do not know Christ yet. They smoke and don’t appreciate what they have. The “Orang Asli” have a very interesting lifestyle. They just run around and do what they want and talk all day without any worries. There are groups of teenagers that hang around the “kampung” as usual. Overall, visiting them was a great experience.

Well, I learnt a lot. I learnt about the “Orang Asli” lifestyle and how they don’t bathe a lot. Bathing isn’t a common activity for them. I felt happy there because they are fun to play with, even though they are quiet and shy.

(Xandria Tan)

I learned that the “Orang Asli” need God’s love in their lives. They still need food, water, money and many other things, but most importantly, they need God. I noticed that they are happier when someone shows love towards them. I also noticed that they neither have fans nor air-conditioning and they have to sleep on a very hard floor. There were also many animals, like dogs, cats and birds in the village. Isabelle, Priscilla, Jia Xin and I saw how they took care of the animals. The things that they have are very limited. If anything is spoiled, they can’t just buy a new one or repair it easily. The “Orang Asli” people are very talented. I went for 2 visitations to other villages before this, which are Kampung Bukit Biru and Kampung Air Hitam. Although they are not the kindest people, they still have good characters like sharing, loving and caring for each other. They also cooked delicious food for us with the ingredients that we provided. I feel that the people of these 3 villages really show their appreciation towards the programs we prepared. We had to prepare ourselves, because they don’t have any water.

(Jeremy Yeoh)

This was an eye-opening trip as it was the first time I went to an “Orang Asli Kampung”. I had the chance to experience new things such as cooking for the “orang asli” and helping to organize simple games. I also got out of my comfort zone of being without my electronic devices for a few days. I am grateful because I have such a good life. This trip was worth it as a total of 22 adults and kids accepted Christ during the Sunday service.
